SkillSphere is a student project developed by a team of Class XI students at Amity International School, Sector 46, Gurgaon, Haryana — 122003, India. We collect only the data required to operate the platform:

We use your data solely to:

• Create and display your student profile
• Enable skill discovery so other students can find you for collaboration
• Track your learning path progress
• Record your open-source contributions on your profile
• Facilitate team formation for competitions
• Generate your auto-biography using your own profile data
• Provide skill recommendations using a rule-based system (no external AI APIs)

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for commercial purposes.

Under the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 ("SPDI Rules"), we process your data on the following basis:

• Consent: You provide data voluntarily when creating an account and filling your profile.
• Legitimate interest: Operating the platform's core features (skill search, team formation, contribution tracking).

Your data is stored securely on Supabase (PostgreSQL database with Row Level Security enabled), hosted on AWS infrastructure. The platform is deployed on Vercel, which provides HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.

We implement the following security measures:

• Row Level Security (RLS) policies — users can only access their own private data
• Passwords are never stored in plain text — handled entirely by Supabase Auth
• All connections are encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
• No sensitive personal data (as defined by SPDI Rules) is collected

SkillSphere uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

As a user of SkillSphere, you have the right to:

• Access: View all data stored on your profile at any time
• Correct: Edit your profile information directly from the platform
• Delete: Request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing us
• Withdraw consent: Stop using the platform and request data removal at any time

SkillSphere is designed specifically for school and college students, including users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data from minors beyond what is required for platform functionality. If you are under 13, please ensure a parent or guardian is aware you are using this platform. We do not collect data that would require parental consent under applicable Indian law for the purposes we describe.

We use strictly necessary cookies only — specifically, authentication session cookies set by Supabase to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics cookies. You can clear cookies at any time via your browser settings, which will log you out of the platform.

We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform evolves. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of SkillSphere after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
